Getting an item repaired with Maxwells? Here's what you'll need to do!

  • Please bring the item to the *shop for repair (we do not fix in the home)
  • We do have access at the rear of the shop for drop off and collection of larger items for repair.
  • You must pay a non-refundable **deposit as the time of booking in their item for repair to cover the cost of diagnostics. This starts at £36.00. Please discuss with the engineer before arriving in store to avoid confusion as products cannot be left without payment. Telephone and/or email contact information will be required.
  • The Engineer will look at the item to ascertain if it can be repaired then contact you with an estimate of cost.
  • If you choose to go ahead with the repair the initial deposit is deducted from the overall cost of the repair.
  • You will be notified when the repair is complete and ready for collection.
  • If you do not wish to proceed further, or the item simply cannot be repaired, the deposit is not refundable to cover the time/labour of the Engineer .
  • You will need to collect the item (whether repaired or not) and pay the balance of the repair in the shop.
  • Please note we do not repair other retailers’ ‘own brand’ products and our ability to repair branded products is subject to being able to source spare parts from the manufacturer.

*Any larger items such as TVs can be collected by us for an additional charge - please check with the Engineer.
** Please note that most items are repaired on the premises and the price depends on parts needed and labour incurred. However some brands like Bose offer ‘fixed price repairs’ only because they have to go back to the manufacturer for the repair and then returned to us.
